AboutThis website is a Girl Scout Gold Award project. The Gold Award is the highest award in Girl Scouts, and it is an honor to earn. I want to thank the organizations Mid America TEEN CERT and Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri. I thank everyone who helped and gave their time on this project. I hope that the public will find this website useful and knowledgeable on natural disasters.

How the idea started |
I would listen to people say that a natural disaster won't happen to them or that they weren't prepared for one. After taking a training class on this topic, I knew something needed to be done. In one day, I went from having no idea on my Gold Award to having a project idea down on paper and having a team to help me.

About the Project |
Many teens, kids, and adults think natural disasters won’t happen to them. Many of them have no clue what do if one strikes in their neighborhood, or how to help themselves be prepared for one. Each year 90,000 people get killed from these natural disasters. This number might go down if people knew what to do in the state of an emergency.
